According to the man’s post, he had been communicating with the woman and believed she was interested in building a relationship with him.
He said the woman contacted him on Friday, August 7, claiming that she was experiencing stomach pain and had not eaten since morning. Out of concern, he reportedly sent her ₦2,000 to get something to eat.
He claimed that she later contacted him again, saying she needed money to purchase ulcer medication, prompting him to send another ₦3,000.
The man said their conversations continued, and the woman allegedly presented herself as someone interested in meeting him and building a relationship.
According to him, he eventually sent her money to buy ingredients and cook a meal, hoping to spend time with her and get to know her better.
However, after receiving the money, the woman allegedly told him that her phone had been damaged and that she could no longer access it.
He said she subsequently stopped communicating with him, leaving him suspicious that he might have been deceived.
The man said the money itself was not his major concern, insisting that he had developed genuine feelings for the woman and was willing to be with her despite her financial circumstances.
“The money is not my problem. I love this girl so much and I am willing to be with her, but her attitude is like she has been doing this to people,” he wrote.
He concluded by saying he was disappointed by what happened.
Meanwhile, the transaction receipt shared alongside his post bears the name Ugochukwu Okafor as the recipient. It is unclear whether the woman provided another person’s account details for the payment or whether the Facebook account was allegedly being operated by someone else.
There is no independent confirmation that the woman deliberately defrauded him, and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance from the conversation remain unclear.
